Description

Ductile plain steel rebar, also known as A1 rebar, is recognized colloquially as soft or plain steel. Ductile rebar, devoid of any ribs, features a perfectly smooth surface. As you may know, steel rebar exhibits broad weldability and flexibility, with variations in these properties across different types. Compared to deformed rebar, plain steel rebar has slightly lower strength, typically falling within the F240 strength grade or the 240 resistance category according to regulations.

The surface of plain steel rebar is plain and cylindrical, lacking any ribs, making it easily distinguishable from deformed rebar. These bars are produced in various sizes ranging from 6 to 400 millimeters and are readily available in the market. It’s worth mentioning that ductile rebar finds specific applications, such as in expansion joint dowels, contraction joints in roads and pavements, and spiral column ties. This type of rebar is easy to cut and bends without damage, making plain steel rebar widely used in many common applications.
